Dell EqualLogic’s can be configured to work as a group and share storage in a storage pool. Volumes can then be configured from the storage pool and stretch across the members. The following will should how to remove a active member and move the live data onto a remaining member.

In my example I have two members in one storage pool.

Each member has volumes configured

To delete a member first select the member - right click - Delete Member

Confirm the operation, note if there isnt enough free space on the remaining member the operation will not complete

The member will be marked as vacating

Monitor the operation until its complete

Once complete the vacated member will be reset to default
